About us

We believe local good
should be easy to do

CommonGood was born from a simple idea: when businesses and communities work together, everyone wins.

Founded by two Exeter entrepreneurs who saw countless grassroots initiatives and businesses eager to help—but no single place that made it easy to connect those efforts in a meaningful, measurable way. Starting in Exeter, we're now expanding across the UK.

That's where CommonGood comes in.

Our Mission

To build thriving, connected communities across the UK where doing good is part of doing business.

We connect businesses , charitable organisations , and community groups —helping them share skills, volunteer time, and channel resources into local projects that make a real difference.

What we do

A practical platform for discovering needs, delivering support, and proving impact.

Make it easy to help

Charitable organisations and community groups share what they need—volunteer time, professional skills, space, or resources. Businesses browse, claim, and complete opportunities that fit their capacity.

Make it measurable

Capture proof of work and outcomes so organisations can report with confidence. CommonGood helps teams keep a clear audit trail and celebrate completed contributions.

Make it motivating

Points, certificates, and leagues create friendly momentum—helping businesses keep social value visible and consistent throughout the year.

Meet the founders

Two Exeter entrepreneurs who believe in the power of community. Here's why they started CommonGood.

Sophie Weeks, co-founder of CommonGood UK

Sophie Weeks

Co-founder & Creative Director

An award-winning interior designer and creative entrepreneur, Sophie has spent over 15 years leading design across the country. Through her work at Expedite and now Stone Petal Studio, she's built a reputation for creating spaces that are fit for purpose, beautiful, and always human-centred.

Sophie is passionate about purposeful business, social value, and creating opportunities for people to connect through design, community, and shared goals.

"I've seen first-hand how businesses want to help—they just need the right connections. CommonGood makes those connections happen."

Nikki Fairclough, co-founder of CommonGood UK

Nikki Fairclough

Co-founder & Community Director

A proud Exonian, Nikki is the founder of WE Placemaking, a community-based placemaking consultancy recognised nationally for its creative and social impact. Her work has earned multiple awards, including The Sceptres, Revo, and The Developer Pineapple for Placemaking.

Nikki has commissioned public art and city installations, and previously founded a socially circular play café Little Exeter that welcomed over 68,000 visitors and donated 100% of profits (£30,000) to local causes.

An author, mother, and proud community connector, Nikki sits on the boards of three charities and has served as a Business Improvement District (InExeter) Director.

"Exeter has an incredible community spirit. CommonGood is about channelling that energy into measurable, lasting change."

Why CommonGood?

We're not just another platform. Here's what makes us different.

Built locally

We're based in Exeter and understand the unique needs of local communities. No distant headquarters making decisions—we're your neighbours.

Proof of impact

Every contribution is tracked and verified. Businesses get real evidence for reports and ESG. Charitable organisations get reliable, accountable support.

Community-led

Founded by people who've spent decades building community connections. We understand what charitable organisations actually need—and how businesses can truly help.

Recognition that matters

Leagues, certificates, and community celebrations. We make doing good visible—and motivating for teams across the business.
